Spine (Non-Surgical)

Back pain? It can occur simply by making a wrong move, after a fall or due to a sports injury. No matter the cause, your pain can cause you to stop doing your daily activities.
If you are tired of living with the pain, then its time for you to come see one of our non-surgical spine physiatrists in Tennessee. Experts in their fields, our doctors can diagnose your back pain and set you on a course to healing.
If we diagnose an issue that requires surgical care, our physiatrists, who work in tandem with our surgical spine team, will ensure you consult with the best surgeon trained to care for your condition.
For most, patients see improvement with physical therapy, exercise and healthy weight goals. Additionally, we offer in-office Spine Injections that offer many of our patients relatively quick and lasting results.
Subspecialties
WHAT IS A PHYSIATRIST?
A physiatrist is a physician that specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. A physiatrist is similar to a physical therapist, but there are some differences. For one, physiatrists are physicians who have gone through four years of medical school and completed a residency. Physical therapists are not required to go to a medical school, though they do have to complete a physical therapy degree program at a college or university. A physiatrist is specially trained in musculoskeletal treatment and diagnosis and can prescribe treatment plans, exercise regimens, and physical therapy. Physiatrists and physical therapists work together when treating patients and throughout the rehabilitation process.
