Samuel Swenson, M.D. – Spine Surgeon

Dr. Samuel Swenson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with specialized expertise in treating a wide range of neck and back conditions. He earned his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Iowa. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in spine surgery at the Indiana Spine Group in Carmel, Indiana, where he trained in the latest surgical and non-surgical techniques for managing cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders.

During his medical training, Dr. Swenson was actively engaged in research and quality improvement projects, with particular interests in patient outcomes, spinal deformity, and image-guided surgical navigation. His research has explored topics such as scoliosis bracing compliance, outcomes after cervical spine surgery, and innovations in nerve block techniques for fracture care.

Originally from Washington, Dr. Swenson holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University. He also completed a two-year mission in Chicago, Illinois.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Swenson enjoys hunting, running, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Tessa, and their four children.
