Christopher D. Melton, M.D.

Dr. Christopher Melton is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He earned his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He then completed a highly competitive Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Emory University, where he received advanced training in primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and the treatment of complex joint disorders. Dr. Melton specializes in helping patients regain mobility and improve quality of life through the latest advancements in joint replacement surgery, emphasizing compassionate care, patient education, shared decision-making, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual’s goals.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Melton enjoys spending time with his wife, Tara, and their two children, Briar and Maacoy. He also enjoys golfing, traveling, staying active, and following soccer. Dr. Melton and his family are proud to call East Tennessee home and are honored to serve the Knoxville community.
